The Greater St. Petersburg Area Awesome Original Second Time Arounders^® Marching Band!!!

Founded in 1983, The Second Time Arounders^® Marching Band was formed to perform for the Festival of States celebration in St. Petersburg, FL. The Band has grown over the years, and now has over 600 members. They range in age from 18 to 85, and represent more than 40 of the 50 states, as well as several foreign countries. The band rehearses only 5 times each year (auxiliary units and drum line 8 times), and has five to seven performances per year. The only requirement for membership is to have had experience in a high school or college marching band.

In addition to the Festival of States in St Petersburg,FL, the Second Time Arounders^® Marching Band has represented St. Petersburg by performing at the Rose Festival (Portland, OR), Fiesta San Antonio (TX), Walt Disney World (Orlando, FL), Gasparilla/Super Bowl Parade 2001 (Tampa, FL), and the St Patrick's Day Festival in Dublin, Ireland, and the Conch Republic Celebration in Key West. At Fiesta San Antonio 2005, we performed our field show at Alamo Stadium, and participated in the Parade of Flowers, and Fiesta Flambeau Illuminated Night Parade. 2006 found us returning to Walt Disney World and performing at EPCOT.

2007 marked the Second Time Arounders SILVER ANNIVERSARY - 25 years in the making and still going strong! In addition to St Petersburg Festival of States activities in conjunction with the St Petersburg Grand Prix, we perfomed in the St Patrick's Day Parade and Festival in Savannah, GA; the second-largest St. Patty's Day Parade in the United States!!

In 2008, look for the AWESOME ORIGINAL SECOND TIME AROUNDERS MARCHING BAND on national TV as we march in the MACY'S THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE in NEW YORK CITY!

By the way, that same portion of law also designates The Star Spangled Banner as the National Anthem (which, although written by Francis Scott Key in 1812, and played at official functions for decades, was not formally adopted as the National Anthem until 1931).
