2008 Rehearsal/Performance Schedule

SPRING SCHEDULE
NOTE: The National Flag Pageant (NFP) will be an OPTIONAL performing group during the Spring
season. Members who care to march in the Spring report on February 26th. Otherwise, NFP members
follow the entire Fall Schedule.
· Jan. 15 (Tuesday) 7:00 p.m. Taping Band. Musicians Only (winds and percussion) – optional
but encouraged. Taping of all music for 2008 season, Location: Northeast HS Cafeteria
· Feb. 5, 12, and 19 (Tuesdays) 7:00 p.m. All Percussion, plus only the following aux groups:
Majorettes, Rounderettes, Rifles, Flag Line and Tall Flags. Location: Northeast HS
· Feb. 16 and 23 (Saturdays) – Early Music Pick-up and Macy’s uniform fitting for all members
EXCEPT Majorettes, Rounderettes, Rifles, Flag Line and Tall Flags. Location: Bringe Music Center,
9:30 – noon.
· Feb. 26 and March 4 (Tuesdays) 7:00 p.m. FULL BAND (includes optional Spring NFP members)
Location: St. Pete Coliseum
· Mar. 11 (Tuesday) 7:00 p.m. FULL BAND – LOCATION CHANGE: NORTHEAST H.S. Cafeteria
(musicians) and courtyard (auxiliary units)
· Mar. 18 (Tuesday) 7:00 p.m. FULL BAND Location: St. Pete Coliseum
· Mar. 25 (Tuesday) 7:00 p.m. FULL BAND - OUTDOOR PRACTICE, Location: Admiral Farragut
Academy Football Field
· April 1 – no rehearsal
· Performance: April 3 (Thursday) 7:00pm, Festival of States Night Parade and Yacht Club Stand
Up Concert
· Performance: April 4 (Friday) 6:00pm, Fast Friday Street Festival, Downtown St. Petersburg
Stand-Up Concert
· Performance: April 5 (Saturday), 6:00pm, City of Dunedin Tattoo - Stand-Up Concert/Field
Presentation
· Performance: April 12 (Saturday) 10:00am, Festival of States Day Parade and Pier Concert
FALL SCHEDULE
In the Fall, we will prepare the Herald Square performance, plus exact parade format and sequence.
We will also brush up on stand-up concert music and routines for upcoming performances.
· Sept. 9 (Tuesday) 7:00 p.m. Location: Coliseum
· Sept 13 (Saturday) 8:30 – 12:00 noon, mini-band camp! Very important. Location TBD
· Sept. 16 and 23 (Tuesdays) 7:00 p.m. Location: Admiral Farragut field
· Sept. 27 (Saturday) - No National Flag Pageant for this rehearsal or taping
o 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Outdoor rehearsal - (Bayshore Drive in front of Mahaffey Theatre
– waterfront side)
o 10:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. rest/hydrate/change into uniforms
o 11:15 a.m. VIDEO TAPE HERALD SQUARE PERFORMANCE - PUBLIC INVITED
NOTE: Following the video tape session, the remaining local dates are tentative and our best estimate.
A demonstration performance at an area field show competition is planned and exact dates will be
announced as available.
· Nov. 5 (Wednesday-to avoid Super Tuesday) 7:00 p.m. outdoor practice
· Performance: Nov. 8 (Saturday) late afternoon - Florida Bandmasters Association District
Marching Band Festival (field show demonstration)
· Nov. 18 (Tuesday) 7:00 p.m. short outdoor practice - final meeting in Florida. Pack equipment.
· TRIP: Nov. 25 - 30 (Tuesday - Sunday) Band trip to Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!
· Performance: Dec. 6 (Saturday) morning - St. Petersburg Santa Parade. Location: Downtown
Homecoming performance: Perform Macy’s routine for hometown crowd!
